The Instituut-Lorentz is at the second floor of the Oort building (slanted by 7o, next to a tall building covered with black panels).
How to get there:
Take a train to Leiden Central
Station (20 minutes from
Amsterdam Schiphol airport).
From the train station, you can either walk along the
Rijnsburgerweg and the Wassenaarseweg (20 minutes),
or take a taxi, or take bus number 57 to Nieuw Vennep
(get out at the stop "Corpus", just before a sharp curve in the
Wassenaarseweg) or 43 to Den Haag (get out at the stop
"Universiteitsterrein", near a round lecture hall with a red roof).
Each bus ride takes less than 10 minutes, leaving the station twice
an hour. Be sure to take the bus in the correct direction (either
to Nieuw Vennep or to Den Haag).
Here is a detailed map of our neighborhood, and here is a map of downtown Leiden (connected to the detailed map in the upper left hand corner). Some nearby hotels are on this map.
By car: Take the A44 (which runs between Amsterdam and The
Hague) and get off at the exit "Oegstgeest". Follow the main road
towards Leiden until the roundabout (500 m), where you make a
sharp turn to the right (first exit). Follow the Rhijngeesterstraatweg,
then continue straight onto the Endegeesterstraatweg.
When the road makes a curve to the left
you can see the Oort building at your right.
Access to the parking place is restricted, please ask your host in advance to arrange access.
If you are travelling on the A4 instead of the A44, then the instructions are a bit more complicated.
